Winter Solstice

Updated: Nov 25

21st December marks the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It's the astrological start of winter and the initiation of light returning to the sky as the days lengthen.

It's a time to dive deep, celebrate, and refocus your direction for the season to come.

To celebrate this rebirth I am holding space on the 22nd December 2024 at 6.00pm to guide you through a restorative yoga class followed by Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep).

On a spiritual level we will create a sacred space at the Solstice, by pausing and taking time to reflect on, and connect with, the light within, enabling us to radiate warmth and sunshine out into the dark days of winter.

I hope you can join me for this special yoga class at this auspicious time .

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is also known as 'yogic sleep' or 'effortless relaxation'. It can be described as the conscious state between wakefulness and sleep, allowing deep relaxation and a sense of wellbeing through awareness .Yoga Nidra is the ultimate relaxation technique for releasing tension and stress held in the body. As you lie in savasana I will guide you through a rotation of consciousness , taking your awareness through different areas of your body enabling a deep level of relaxation and allowing the body to recalibrate.

The benefits of Yoga Nidra

  • Releases negative emotions and thought patterns

  • calms the nervous system

  • develops your inner resource to meet any and all circumstances you may encounter in life
