Coming Home to Stillness

Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra & Sound Bath — Sunday 27th September 2026
As the leaves begin to turn and the days gently draw in, autumn invites us to slow down, listen inwardly and embrace a different rhythm.
On Sunday 27th September, I’ll be gathering with you for a deeply nourishing evening of Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Sound Bath, inspired by the energy of the Autumn Equinox.
The astronomical Autumn Equinox takes place on 23rd September this year, marking the point when the Sun crosses the celestial equator and we move from the light-filled months of summer towards the darker half of the year.
It is a beautiful seasonal threshold — a moment to pause and acknowledge change.
The wisdom of the Autumn Equinox
The equinox is often described as a time of balance: light and darkness, activity and rest, outward expression and inward reflection.
But perhaps the deeper invitation is not to hold everything in perfect balance, but to become more aware of the natural cycles within and around us.
Nature doesn't resist the changing season.
The leaves let go.
The days become shorter.
The earth begins to turn inward.
And autumn reminds us that letting go is not an ending — it is part of the natural process of renewal.
This is a wonderful time to ask:
What am I ready to release?
What no longer needs my energy?
What would it feel like to slow down and listen?
Yin Yoga — softening and surrendering
Our practice will begin with Yin Yoga, creating space to slow right down and move away from the busyness of everyday life.
Yin invites us to stay with each posture for longer, allowing the body to gradually soften while we become more aware of sensation, breath and stillness.
Rather than striving for a particular shape, the emphasis is on presence, patience and surrender.
As we settle into the postures, we'll have an opportunity to notice what we're holding — physically, emotionally and energetically — and gently explore the possibility of letting some of it go.
This is a practice of listening rather than doing.
Yoga Nidra — journeying inward
From Yin we will move into Yoga Nidra, a deeply restful guided meditation often described as yogic sleep.
Lying comfortably and supported by the earth beneath us, there is nothing to achieve and nowhere to go.
I'll guide you through a process of bringing awareness into the body, the breath and the quieter layers of your experience.
Yoga Nidra offers an opportunity to step away from the constant demands of the outside world and reconnect with a deeper sense of inner stillness.
It is particularly beautiful at this time of year, when nature itself is beginning to turn inward.
Sound Bath — allowing yourself to receive
We'll complete our afternoon with a deeply relaxing Sound Bath.
Allow yourself to simply lie back and receive the vibrations and resonance of the sound.
Using sound as a meditation, we can allow the mind to become quieter while the body rests and the nervous system is given an opportunity to settle.
There is nothing you need to do.
Simply listen.
Breathe.
Receive.
Let yourself be held by the sound.
A seasonal pause
This gathering is an invitation to step out of the rush of everyday life and create a little space for yourself.
A space to breathe.
A space to soften.
A space to reflect on what you have gathered over the summer — and what you might now be ready to release.
As we move into autumn, perhaps we can take our inspiration from nature:
letting go without resistance, turning inward without fear, and trusting that stillness has its own wisdom.
I would love you to join me for this special evening of Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Sound — a gentle seasonal pause to reconnect with yourself and welcome the quieter energy of autumn.
