As we cosy into October, Autumn has most definitely arrived . The leaves are changing colour and there is a definite chill in the air. Autumn is a time to start shedding things in our life that no longer serve us positively. Just like the leaves on the tree drop, finding within the increasing darkness the space to let stuff go.
As the ancient philosopher Rumi said:
Be like the tree
Let the dead leaves drop
To assist us with our release I've decided to dedicate next Thursday class to Yin Yoga and balancing Pranayama. As the darkness of the New Moon forces us to look inwards the way we practice yoga should adjust accordingly. Practices like Yin Yoga draw our energy inwards, encouraging reflection and prioritising nourishment.
